چکیده
This study aimed at comparative examining of the interactions between conventionally used clay and carbon nanomaterials human lung adenocarcinoma cells (A549 cells). The following platy tubular were tested: nanoparticles, i.e. multi-walled nanotubes (MWCNTs) graphene oxide nanosheets (GO) as well nanoclays, halloysite (HNTs) kaolinite (Kaol). Nanoparticle physicochemical properties their internalization into examined using dynamic light scattering atomic force, 3D laser scanning confocal darkfield hyperspectral microscopies. Biological aspects nanomaterial-cell interaction included assessment cellular toxicity, DNA damage, metabolic activity, physical parameters cells. Regardless a shape, demonstrated cell surface adsorption, but negligible penetration compared to nanoclays. However, found be most toxic for probed by MTS assay. They also turned out genotoxic nanoclays revealed DNA-Comet GO significantly increased fraction apoptotic was cytotoxic nanomaterial. Comparison flow cytometry data indicated that effect MWCNTs not associated with death, rather due decrease in activity and/or proliferation. Finally, no significant shape tested on cytotoxicity revealed.

High temperature acidic oxidation of multiwalled Carbon nanotubes and synthesis of Graphene quantum dots
The acid oxidation of carbon nanotube generally results in opening the close ends of the nanotube and to make surface modifications. Herewith, Multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were oxidized in acids at high temperature experimental conditions which led to the formation of graphene quantum dots (GQDs). High resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectro...

متن کاملMultiwalled Carbon Nanotubes: Environmental Application
The high external surface area leads to a significant increase in the surface contact between the gaseous or liquid reactants and the active phase supported on this nanostructured host which is a prerequisite for its use as catalyst support, especially in liquid phase medium where diffusion rate is predominant [2]. Also, the strong interactions between the exposed prismatic planes and the depos...
متن کاملLithiation-induced embrittlement of multiwalled carbon nanotubes.
Lithiation of individual multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) was conducted in situ inside a transmission electron microscope. Upon lithiation, the intertube spacing increased from 3.4 to 3.6 Å, corresponding to about 5.9% radial and circumferential expansions and ∼50 GPa tensile hoop stress on the outermost tube wall. The straight tube walls became distorted after lithiation. In situ compress...
متن کاملThermal conductivity of individual multiwalled carbon nanotubes
Thermal conductivity of individual multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) is measured using a pulsed photothermal reflectance technique. Intrinsic thermal conductivity of individual MWCNT with a diameter 150 nm and length 2 mm at room temperature is extracted to be 2586 W/mK. Individual MWCNT is surrounded by SiO2, so parallel resistor model is applied in which SiO2 supportive is treated as a con...
